Our Pain Management
Life often leads to pain. Accidents, old age, birth defects, stress, toxic environment and so many other factors can lead to constant pain, discomfort, and anxiety. When this happens our entire life may become miserable and we may not be able to see a way out. Our doctors may not even be able to explain why we feel the way we do. They simply prescribe pills in an effort to mask the real problem. This often makes the situation worse and can lead to even more serious health problems. Is there any hope for a pain free future?
Coastal Wellness Center's Pain management program is a holistic, natural approach to relieve those suffering from chronic pain. Instead of prescribing pills, we administer Massage Therapy to help you release tension, stress and anxiety that could be a contributing cause of your pain. Muscles can become stuck together causing soreness and pain. Massage Therapy separates the muscles, restoring them to perform their separate functions. Reflexology helps to stimulate all of your body's systems so that they can help you heal naturally. Reflexology helps your body maintain and restore its natural functions. Reflexology can greatly aid in relieving chronic pain, even if you have been suffering for years or decades with the same condition. Your body knows how to heal, or at least help, most problems, but it needs help to focus on those painful areas. Reflexology offers that assistance. These treatments can help refresh, revitalize, and re-energize your body. All services offered by Coastal Wellness Center are designed to increase the body's natural energy level, your sense of well-being and aid in relieving even chronic pain.
Countless men and women on the Eastern Shore, including Ocean City, are diagnosed with Fibromyalgia each year. What is Fibromyalgia? Also called Chronic Fatigue or Chronic Pain Syndrome. Fibromyalgia is Chronic widespread pain and a heightened and painful response to pressure applied to certain parts of the body. Fibromyalgia results in pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, joint stiffness, bowel and bladder problems, numbness and tingling, cognitive dysfunction, depression and anxiety. Wow, what a devastating condition.
Coastal Wellness Center's Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Management Program has helped many men and woman cope with and even eliminate much of the pain associated with this ever growing condition. We use a holistic, natural approach to relieve those suffering from chronic pain. We use Massage Therapy, Reflexology or a combination to the two to help alleviate pain without using prescription drugs that can actually make your condition worse. Some feel that the name Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome was created in an effort to label those suffering from these debilitating symptoms. Drug companies were now able to create and sell prescription medication to help those suffering from these conditions. Most, if not all of the symptoms though, can readily be relieved using a well calibrated blend of Massage Therapy and Reflexology. Contact us today to start your road to a pain free life.
Conventional Pain Management
Conventional medicine endeavors to treat the symptoms or the effect, not the cause. Often, this results in a relapse or undesirable side effects and may not even relieve the pain. There may be times when some of these conventional pain management methods help and one of them may be beneficial for your specific needs. But they should not be considered an end-all for pain management.
In conventional medicine, pain is usually managed using pharmaceuticals (pain blockers and anti-inflammatory), steroids, surgery and antidepressants. These will often times be followed up with physical therapy, which may be the real healing power behind many of these conventional methods. Interventional procedures are often used for chronic back pain. These may include epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, neurolytic blocks, spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal drug delivery system implants. At times, doctors are unable to detect the real cause of the pain and are left with no alternative to pain killers or exploratory surgery, which can both lead to greater problems.
Much of the problem stems from the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical and healthcare industries that support one another. They stay in business by promoting drugs and other conventional methods of pain management. Without getting into conspiracy theory, Coastal Wellness Center recommends a natural, holistic approach to pain management.
